Oh My Lorde!

So recently I've been sick and staying at home so I decided to be a bit more productive and churn out something haha.

Here's a pencil drawing of one of my favourite artists right now on my music playlist. It's none other than the Queen Bee herself, Lorde.

Happy Halloween!

"Scooby Doo... Where are you?"

(Done in Coloursoft colour pencils.)

The Great Gatsby fan art

It was a great movie, needless to say, and that got me inspired enough to paint this in watercolour :)

"I wish I had done everything on earth with you."

Coloursoft Converse

So I was bored and took my friend's Instagram picture to colour. I finally got to use my Derwent Coloursoft colour pencils haha.

This was the last drawing i did before my NS enlistment so I guess the frequency of art produced is gonna get even lower coz i might be busier... :(

WRECK-IT-RALPH!

Here's just a little fan art of one of my favourite moives haha.

"WELCOME TO SUGAR RUSH! PLEASE SELECT YOUR PLAYER!"

NTU ADM admissions!

So, I've decided to apply for the school of Art, Design and Media at Nanyang Technological University and here are some of the assignments that i have to submit for my application haha. Hopefully i'm accepted :)

This parrot was done in watercolour paint

This is done in pencil.

This storyboard was for a short story i was supposed to write as part of the assignment haha.

here it is:

Scars

The morning air shook violently, as shrill screams saturated the atmosphere and panic permeated deeply into the hearts of the New Yorkers. The devil himself, it seemed, had been released to unleash a certain premature apocalypse to a city perched on top of the world. The destruction, the mayhem, the pandemonium: they made him smile. Thousands fled, through smoke and ash, hoping to evade the impending doom awaiting the struck towers.

The twin sisters soon exhaust their strength, tumbling to the ground like fatigued athletes. For a spilt second, the world held it's breath as the deafening silence was heard for miles. Everything came to a standstill as the gravity of the disaster soon dawned upon the masses. The iconic twin towers, the symbols of economic and political stability, have been reduced to rubble, scattered and strewn across the business district. It heralded a new age: an age of ceaseless trepidation where terrorism returned with full vengeance.

In utter disbelief, Emma watched the live broadcast as the evil unfolded and smoke swallowed the scene, obscuring the scars left behind by the attack on the World Trade Centre.

After a long break...

Hey guys. sorry for not updating the blog recently. Exams and all... Anyway, I've decided to try a new cartooning style that demanded a higher level of realism. here's one I did of the four seasons. (Clockwise from top left) Anna Spring, Sunny Summers, Brad Amber and Jack Frost. For Frost I've decided to use the one in the movie "Rise of the Guardians" :) Done in 2B mechanical pencil.

Alice: Madness Returns

Here's a little fan art of this game i REALLY love but I sadly don't have. LOL. It's called "Alice: Madness Returns" and is a dark twisted version of Lewis Carroll's classic tale of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. This game is also a sequel to the original twisted Alice game called "American Mcgee's Alice, which came out in 2001, if I'm not wrong. "Alice: Madness Returns" came out last year and I wish someone would actually get it for me. HAHA.

By the way, this was a pen sketch on paper that was coloured in Photoshop :)

Sorry for the really boring background! ><

In Memory of...

Hey guys, here is a little tribute I made in remembrance of the earthquake that hit Japan one year ago on 11 March 2011.

Twisted Anastasia

Another twisted attempt to ruin the image of your childhood! ;) Adapted from the movie "Anastasia" by Don Bluth.

Nostalgia

Here's an excerpt from "Nostalgia", a comic inspired by a narrative that my O Level English tuition teacher wrote :)

*****

"The decoupage of old theatre and advertising posters masked its familiar russet brick walls. A blackboard stood by its entrance, with house specialties ranging from authentic Auvergne sausage with potato and cheese puree to ravioli with basil butter, bearing every tell-tale sign that Bistro Augustins no longer existed."

*****

Paris, France – a quaint city with picturesque scenery rich in remarkable culture and history. Here, 52-year-old Angelika Abendroth, a former cabaret dancer in the 1970s, returns to the place she had held so dear during the height of her glamourous career and fame. However, her Paris was no more; ruthlessly replaced by the sights and sounds that marred the beauty of her treasured past.

Mysterious Ruins

Just a drawing that I did quite a while ago... On a journey to worlds unknown :)

Gluttony: coursework appetiser

Hey, this is just a colour pencil drawing of some cupcakes. :) I intend to include it in my A Level coursework, titled Sinful. In my coursework, I will be exploring the seven cardinal sins of man. (Hope my teacher accepts my ideas.)

Memories from Wonderland

Here, I've done some drawings that were inspired by Coliandre's French version of Alice in Wonderland :) The first one was done in pen and colour pencils and the second was simply a photoshopped version of the first.

THE MIRACLE ROBOT "ココロ (KOKORO) Rin and Len"

Hey guys :), I just found this really touching anime music video (watch it). But I'm not really that into anime/manga anymore... Just saying.

Awesome... Now the song is stuck in my head lol... Anyway, here I've tried to draw Rin, the Robot. Done in pencil.

And then, when I got bored in school, I drew this in my doodle book... Done in black ballpoint pen and coloured with highlighters.

That is what happens when you get bored, especially in school :)

Twisted Tinkerbell!

I did this in my school doodle book before running it in Photoshop :) Inspired by this awesome graphic artist Jeffrey Thomas who has done a series of Twisted Disney Princesses from Snow White to Rapunzel :D

Impressions: Taylor Swift and Ke$ha!

O Level Art

Hey again :) I have recently gotten back my O Level results and scored an A1 for Art! (I was the only one in the entire school who scored A1 for it hahas) The rest of my subjects didn't do too badly as well, scoring me an aggregate of 11 points for my L1R5. After CCA deduction, I have 9 points (HOORAY). So, it's off to JC for me! St. Andrew's JC to be exact (well, at least that's what I put for my first choice). OK, so here's what I submitted for my Art O Level papers:

Paper 1 (papercut coursework):

Title: Flying Kites

And here's the final piece that's done after all those pages of prepwork and many months later (this is made entirely out of coloured paper):

Paper 2 (drawing exam):

Title: Street Performers

The final piece was done during the three-hour long exam in which no photography is allowed therefore it cannot be shown :(

Birth of RE(draw)

Hi :) RE(draw) is my first blog and it will sorta be dedicated to uploads of my artworks and occasional drawings that I do in my free time. This post will be the official kick-start for RE(draw) in 2011. Enjoy :D
